A stylish Omega Speedmaster Professional 'Moonwatch', marking the 30th anniversary since the Apollo 11 landing, which saw the first humans walk the surface of the moon.
With a sturdy stainless steel case, steel oyster strap, and curved plexiglass crystal protecting the steel glass face, it is no surprise that an Omega Speedmaster was chosen to tell the time on one of the most ambitious journeys taken by human beings. Its black tachymeter bezel completes the chronograph, with three small dials at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock, controlled by the stopwatch buttons either side of the steel crown. Its white baton numerals are intercut with a total of 300 small batons, with its white baton hands contrasting with the space-black dial.
To complete the charm of the package, the reverse of the watch is engraved with "Hello Houston, Tranquility Base here, the eagle has landed", followed by the date and time of landing, around a lovely embossed engraving of an eagle landing on the moon.
In the final picture, in one of the most famous and astonishing photographs in the world, Buzz Aldrin can be seen wearing his trusty Omega Speedmaster, which this watch has been based off. Comes with a leather box and outer box.
