FINE DIAMONDS

Welcome to the opening day of our virtual Advent Calendar! Over the next 24 days we will open our doors to a cornucopia of fine jewellery, watches and giftware.

Under the supervision of gemmologist Ben Ogden, the jewellery department is home to a constantly evolving selection of stunning diamond jewellery. Diamonds still exert a fascination for their extraordinary properties of lustre, brilliance, hardness and rarity. As the famous De Beers campaign had it, 'a diamond is forever'. Billions of years in the making, natural diamonds rarely show any wear and tear; often the only clue to the date of the diamond jewellery is the hallmark on the piece of jewellery or the style of the cut.

In our collection is a vast range of settings, sizes and styles, modern, vintage or antique.

The wonderful solitaire ring in platinum features a 3.56cts diamond of G colour and VS1 clarity, enhanced with brilliant cut diamond-set shoulders.

Line bracelets are often also known as 'tennis' bracelets, so named because they were a favourite of US player Chris Evert, who would often wear one on court! This example has a generous 10.28cts of diamonds. The drop earrings in overlapping ribbon form would add a flamboyant look to any evening ensemble!
