National Proposal Day Is Your Chance To Sparkle

But how and when did National Proposal Day come about?. It seems that a man named John Michael O'Loughlin concocted the idea after a female cousin had been going out with the same man for many years who still hadn’t proposed to her. Mr O’Loughlin in fact chose two times of the year for this holiday. March’s National Proposal Day is the on the Vernal Equinox, at which point day and night are equal lengths.

Cinnamon and diamond ring - stock no. 60-87-819

Striking and eye-catching ring features alternating rows of cinnamon and white coloured princess-cut diamonds. Set into 18ct rose gold, this ring has a total of 14 cinnamon diamonds and 7 white diamonds and has a wide setting for a more dramatic impact.

A second Proposal Day occurs during the Autumnal Equinox in September. It seems Mr O’Loughlin chose both of these days to signify "equal efforts which is required for a successful marriage". March’s holiday falls on the first day of spring with the exception of Leap Years like this one when it occurs the day after.
