New Yorkshire Cancer Research Ridings Committee Hosts Glittering Launch At Ogdens

December 2011

On 24th November, Yorkshire's leading cancer charity, Yorkshire Cancer Research,  welcomed the newly formed Ridings committee to the Ripon area.

The new committee celebrated its inception with an exclusive launch event at Ogden of Harrogate, which raised over £1000 for Yorkshire Cancer Research. Guests were welcomed by Robert Ogden and his team who were on hand to advise on the processes of jewellery design, care and valuation. This was followed by a rare ‘behind the scenes’ tour of the Ogden workshop to see where jewellery is designed, crafted, repaired and remodelled.

Chaired by 33 year old Jessica Greensit, of Wath, near Ripon, the Ridings Committee aims to complement the award-winning fundraising activities of the existing Ripon Committee.

Jessica Greensit said: "This was a fantastic opportunity for us to raise funds for a charity that prides itself on making a real difference to Yorkshire's cancer patients, with 78p in every pound raised being invested in vital research right on our doorstep."

Robert Ogden of Ogden of Harrogate said: “We were thrilled to host the Ridings Committee’s first event. Cancer affects so many people and it is fantastic that Yorkshire Cancer research enables patients in this county to benefit from the latest in medical research.”
